Foundedin2001,TYSAendeavourstoInspireandEmpowerYoungPeopletodevelopknowledge,skillsandtheirstatusbyincreasinglyexposingthemtosports,education,trainingandlivelihoodopportunities.
Fromahumblebeginningofsixmembers,TYSAhasgrowntoamembershipbaseofover20,000youthaccessingitsservicesannually.
TYSAhasmanagedtoharnessthelittleresourcesatitsdisposaltotransformthousandsoflivesinthelocalcommunitieswhereitoperates.
TYSAcollaboratesandNetworkswith10InternationalOrganizationsandover20localorganizationse.

Itsstrongestpillarhasbeenawidebaseofover50volunteersfromcross-cuttingprofessionalfields.
Institutionalgrowthhasseentheacquisitionofrentedofficespacewithbasicofficeequipmentandahiredsportsfield.

TYSAwasoneof2007CARE/USAAwardwinnerandreceivedtheCARE-ChegeSpecialAwardforYouthEducation,KenyaCommunityDevelopmentFund(KCDF)forOutstandingCommunityService2009TYSAhassuccessfullyimplementeda15,000EurosprojectfundedbyMamacashofNetherlandsin2007.
Thisprojectusedsportstoempowerruralgirlsespeciallythoseaffectedbythepostelectionviolence.
Itgaveopportunitytogirlstoaccesseducation,lifeskillsincludingReproductivehealtheducation.
In2008-2009,weimplementedaUS$11,000peaceprojectfundedbyHandicapInternationaland2010,wehavejustconcludedimplementingaUS$17,000'GirlsWeCan'projectfundedbyKenyaCommunityDevelopmentFoundation.

Allthosewhocomeintocontactwithourbeneficiarieseitherascoaches,referees,firstaiders,playersthemselves,funs,officialsandcommunityallshareinthisbelief.

Footballsessionsareintegratedwithtrainingsthatpromotevaluessuchas:Respect,Fairplay,ProblemSolving,and/teamwork.
Tominimizeabusetogirlsboysareguidedtoviewthegirlsastheirsistersandwatchoutforanybodywhoisouttoabusethem.
Anycasesofabusearereportedtothecoordinatorofthefemalefootball.
WhenMarcfromGlobalgivingUSA(oneofthefundingorganization)visitedTYSA,hewasamazedandthisiswhathesaid.
Itstruckmethatthisisaboutmuchmorethansoccer,orsports.
Thisisaboutbuildingupstrongwilledwomenwhocanleadthenation.
It'saboutreachingforthatfuturetogether,asateam.
It'skindofhardformetoexplainwhatIamseeing,becausethereisn'tanythinglikeitintheUSAthatissimilar.

Iwasblessedwithaboybuttoraisefoodwasterrible,thingslookedunanswerableformeandtheonlyoptionwasformetogobackhome.

Weareintheprocessofprovidingcomputerproficiencyskillstothegirlsandlibraryservicesunder'PambazukoYouthDevelopmentproject'Over10,000girlshavebeenmobilizeddirectlyorindirectlytoaccesseducationsince2002whentheprojectwasinitiatedwithonlyonegirlasabeneficiary.
Severalschools,families,communityorganizationsandothercivilsocietieshavereplicatedwhatTYSAhasdone.
Throughsportsscholarshipsand'Operationbacktoschool'hascreatedastrongplatformforgirlstocompetewithBoys.
