Theuniversity,though50milesfromanythingthatcouldbecalledametropolis,wasalargeinternationalcommunityuntoitself,fullofEnglish-men,Indians,Pakistani,Germans,Americans,and,ofcourse,Nigerians.
Ilivedinasingleroominastudentdormitory,amoderniftreacherousbuildingwithrunningwateratleastfourdaysaweekandclec(ricitywhentheweatherwasgood.

Monthslater,sludentgrievanceseruptedintoariot(hatforcedtheschooltoclosedew"formorethantwoweeks,buti"thelonglistofgrievances,thePeaceCorpswasnotnowmentioned.
