ItisworthnotingthatwhenYPBPRisselectedwithanSDTVinputformat,someHsyncoutputpulseswillbehalfthewidthofthenormalHsyncpulsesduetothenarrowequalizationpulsesintheverticalblankinginterval.
WhentheHsyncsignalchangesfromfulltohalfwidthpulses,orviceversa,theHsyncperiodorscanratechangeswithrespecttothenegativesyncedges.
ThesebriefchangesintheHsyncperiodmaycauseanegative-edgetriggeredhorizontalPLLtolosesynclockmomentarily,whichcancausetheon-screenpicturetodistortorblankrepeatedly.
Thisconditioncanberectifiedusingalogicinvertertoproducenegative,leadingedgeHsyncpulses.
WhentheinvertedHsyncsignalchangesfromfulltohalfwidthpulses,orviceversa,theHsyncperiodwillremainconstantwithrespecttothenegativeedges,whichiscorrectHsyncoperationfornegative-edgetriggereddisplays.
