MethodsInourintensivecareunitof15bedswithalargeexperi-enceofPP,wehaveretrospectivelyincludedallsessionsofPP(atleast16hoursofPP)performedonpatientsunderECCO2Rtherapybetweenaugust2014andmarch.

WeusedILAACTIVVEdevice(NOVALUNG)withMINILUNGmembraneandadoublelinefemoralcathe-ter(NOVAPORTTWIN24F).

ForeachsessionwecomparedPaO2/FiO2andthePaCO2beforeandafter1HofPP.
Foreachsession,wedidthemeanofbloodflowanddrainagepressure(P1)duringalengthofonehour:duringthelasthourbeforePP,thefirsthourafterPPandthelasthourbeforestop-pingPP.
WecomparedwithaFriedman'stest,themeanandthecoefficientofvariationofeachparametertoevaluatethestabilityofthedevice.
WenotedallthesideeffectsofthePP(bleeding,decanulation,etc.
).
ResultsWeperformed9PPsessionson5patients,1in3patientsand3in2patients.
ThePaO2/FiO2ratiowashigherdur-ingPP(136(78-250)thanbeforePP(126(58-145)).
Betweenbefore,thebeginningandtheendofPPwedidn'tfounddifferenceinbloodflow,respectively1472ml/min(1201-1971),1403ml/min(1216-1850),1447ml/min(1231-2012),andinP1,respectively-37mmHg(-46--25),-41mmHg(-50--28),-41mmHg(-47--29).
