Forthesecond2x2tobeattachedyouwillneedtoshortenitthewidthofthefirst2x2soitendsupbeing34"fromthecornerandthisiseasilydonebyputtingthis2x2inthecornerrightaboveorbelowthefirstoneandscribingalineortracingalineoffthemounted2x2givingyouexactlythelengthaftercuttingthisoff.
Afteryouhavethelengthofthissecond2x2holditflushagainstthefirst2x2andrepeatthisprocedure.

Ifthisspaceisbiggerthanthewidthofyourpencilputastraightedgeagainstthewallanddrawthelinenexttoyourstraightedge.
Nowtransferthislineoverasclosetotheedgesoyouareonlycuttingaveryminimalofftheedgetomakethisshelftightonbothsides.
Don'tforgettoscorethislinebeforecutting.
Youshouldbeabletotracethistothebottomshelfandrepeatthecut.

Thenpredrillwiththe1/8bitandcountersink4holesaboveeach2x2spacingevenlyandruna2"screwintoeachhole.
Youshouldhave8screwsineachshelfatthispoint.
InstallingbalustersorspindlesIfyouchoosetheturnedorroundspindlesthismeansthespindleisroundedinthemiddlewithsquareends.
Youneedtofindthecenteroftheroundedpartofthespindle.

Lineupthefrontcornerperfectlywiththeshelfcornerasshownandnailinbeingcarefultokeepyournailofftothesideabitaseachspindlegetsscrewedfromthetopandbottom.
NextwithmyshelfImeasuredback23/4ofaninchandnailedinmysecondspindleandagain23/4ofaninchandnailedinmythirdspindle.
Thespaceleftovertothewallisactuallylessnowbutagainuseyourjudgmentonthesespacesandrepeatfortheotherside.

Beforecuttingmovethebladedowntothemarkonthetrim,theverybackofthebladeshouldnotcutthislineoff.
Adjustasnecessaryandcut.
Thispiecewhentrialfittedontheshelfagainwillbeslightlylong.
Theideaistheanglebackofthecutorbackofthetrimshouldbeperfectlyatthecorner.
Donotcutthisangleagainjustslightlycutoffthesquaredendorotherendalittleatatimeuntilthepieceisexactlywhereyouwantit.
Nownailthispiecetotheplywoodholdingitupslightlyabovetheplywoodsoyouhaveaslightridgeontopallthewayacross.
Nowtocutthelongpieceacrossthefrontcuttheangleat221/2degreesandtrialfitbeforecuttingtheotherendsoyoucanadjustthedegreestoendupwithanicemiteredcornerandjustrepeatthisuntilyouaredoneandhappywitheachmiter.
Takeyourtimewiththissoyougetnicetightjoints.
Keepinmindwoodfillercanhidesmallflaws.
