TheUC1625containsinputlatchesthatserveasnoiseblankingfilters.
Theselatchesremaintransparentthroughanyphaseofamotorrotationandlatchimmediatelyafteraninputtransitionisdetected.
TheyremainlatchedfortwocyclesofthePWMoscillator.
AtaPWMoscillatorspeedof20kHz,thiscorrespondsto50μsto100μsofblanktimewhichlimitsmaximumrotationalspeedto100kRPMforamotorwithsixtransitionsperrotationor50kRPMforamotorwith12transitionsperrotation.
Thispreventsnoisegeneratedinthefirst50μsofatransitionfrompropagatingtotheoutputtransistorsandcausingcross-conductionorchatter.
TheUC1625alsocontainssixflipflopscorrespondingtothesixoutputdrivesignals.
Oneoftheseflipflopsisseteverytimethatanoutputdrivesignalisturnedon,andclearedtwoPWMoscillatorcyclesafterthatdrivesignalisturnedoff.
Theoutputofeachflipflopisusedtoinhibitdrivetotheopposingoutput(Figure8).
Inthisway,itisimpossibletoturnondriverPUAandPDAatthesametime.
ItisalsoimpossibleforoneofthesedriverstoturnonwithouttheotherdriverhavingbeenoffforatleasttwoPWMoscillatorclocks.

Thelow-sidecirculatingdiodesgotogroundandthecurrentsenseterminalsoftheUC1625(ISENSE1andISENSE2)areconnectedtoRSthroughadifferentialRCfilter.
Theinputbiascurrentofthecurrentsenseamplifiercausesacommonmodeoffsetvoltagetoappearatbothinputs,soforbestaccuracy,keepthefilterresistorsbelow2kandmatched.
ThecurrentthatflowsthroughRSisdiscontinuousbecauseofchopping.
Itflowsduringtheontimeofthepowerstageandiszeroduringtheofftime.
Consequently,thevoltageacrossRSconsistsofaseriesofpulses,occurringatthePWMfrequency,withapeakvalueindicativeofthepeakmotorcurrent.
