—(1)Whereanylivestockwhichhasbeenexported,onorafterthe1stdayofOctober,1936,fromaportintheStatetoa20Britishlandingplace(otherthanlivestocksoexportedafteranorderhasbeenmadebytheBritishauthoritiesdeclaringthatanarea,whichincludessuchBritishlandingplace,isanareainfectedwithfoot-and-mouthdisease)aredetainedatsuchBritishlandingplaceforaperiod(inthissub-sectionreferredtoastheadditional25period)beyondthenormalperiodbyreasonoftherequirementsoftheBritishauthoritiesinconsequenceofanoutbreakorsuspectedoutbreakorapprehendeddangeroffootandmouthdisease,thefollowingprovisionsshallhaveeffect,thatistosay:—(а)theownerorthepersonalrepresentativeoftheownerof30suchlivestockshall,subjecttotheprovisionsofthisAct,beentitledtobepaidcompensationinrespectofthedepreciationduetosuchdetention;(б)ifsuchlivestockdieduringtheadditionalperiod,theownerorthepersonalrepresentativeoftheownerof35suchlivestockshall,subjecttotheprovisionsofthisAct,beentitledtobepaidcompensationinrespectofthedeathofsuchlivestock.
(2)CompensationunderthissectioninrespectofanylivestockshallbeinadditiontoanycompensationpayableundertheActof401932inrespectofsuchlivestock.

—TheMinistermay,afterconsultationwiththeNationalExecutiveoftheIrishLiveStockTrade,makeregulations(inthisActreferredtoasthedetainedanimals(compensationfordepreciation)regulations)fixingtheratesatwhichcompensationunderthis45Act(otherthancompensationinrespectofthedeathoflivestock)istobepaid,andmaybysuchregulationsfixdifferentratesinrespectofdifferentkinds(definedinsuchmannerandbyreferencetosuchthingsastheMinisterthinksproper)oflivestock.

—(1)Sections3,4and8oftheActof1932shallapplyin50respectofcompensationunderthisActasfullyasifthesaidsectionswereenactedinthisAct,withandsubjecttothefollowingmodifications,thatistosay:—(a)insub-sections(1)and(2)ofthesaidsection3,thewords"thedetentionof"shallbeomitted;255—(6)infixingundersub-section(1)ofthesaidsection4theamountofcompensationunderthispresentActthecommitteeofassessorsshall,incasetheclaimisnotinrespectofthedeathoflivestock,fixsuchcompensation5inaeordancewiththeappropriateratesetforth.
inthedetainedanimals(compensationfordepreciation)regulations;(c)paragraph(c)ofthesaidsection8shallnotapply.
(2)Thereferenceinsection5oftheActof1932totheActof101932shallbeconstruedasincludingareferencetothispresentAct.
(3)Thereferenceinsection6oftheActof1932totheActof1928shallbeconstruedasincludingareferencetotheActof1932.

—(1)Sub-section(2)ofSection7oftheActof1928isherebyamendedbythesubstitutionoftheword"three"fortheword15"two",andthesaidsub-sectionshallbeconstruedandhaveeffectaccordingly.
(2)Thereferenceinsub-section(1)ofsection19oftheActof1928totheActof1928shallbeconstruedasincludingareferencetothispresentAct.
