ItwassponsoredbytheInternationalUnionofRadioScience(URSI)asanactivityofCommissionE(Chairman:presenteditor)precedingtheURSIGeneralAssemblyinPrague,Czechoslovakiain1990.
Theaimwasanexchangeofinformationandviewstohighlightthestateoftheartinradioscienceandinterdisciplinaryareas.
Alongthisline,theeditorhasattemptedtocoverquitenew,novelorunconventionalsubjectsbesidesmoretraditionalorconventionalones.
Althoughagreatmanysubjectshaveapparentlybeencovered,thisbookhasbeeneditedsothereadercanfindsomecommonconceptsorviewspresented.
Onthisbasis,agroupofmanysubjectscanbetreatedinaunifiedfashion,andnewideasandviewscanbegainedasamostvaluableadditiontocurrentknowledge.
Thisisoneofthemajorfeaturesofthisvolumethatcannotbefoundinanyofthemonographsorproceedingsthatcoveranarrowrangeoflimitedtopics.
