1ThisACisentitledRNAV10inordertobeconsistentwiththecriteriasetforthinICAODoc9613–Performance-basednavigation(PBN)manual.
ThisnewdesignationandversionofthisdocumentdoesnotchangeanyrequirementnordoesitaffectoperatorsthathavealreadyobtainedanRNP10approvalbytheCivilAviationAuthority(CAA).

2TheRNAV10navigationspecificationdoesnotrequireon-boardperformancemonitoringandalerting.
However,thedesignationforairworthinessandoperationalapprovals,aswellasairspaceandroutedesignationswillremainasRNP10,inordertoexemptthispublicationandtheapprovalsonthismatterfromcomplyingwiththenewRNAV10designation.

3Recognisingthatthereareairspaces,routes,andairworthinessandoperationalapprovalsdesignatedasRNP10,itisexpectedthatthenewdenominationsofairspace,routes,andaircraftandoperatorapprovalswillcontinuetousesuchterm(RNP10),whilethePBNapplicationwillbeknownasRNAV10.

4ThisACprovidesorientationandguidanceonaspectsrelatedtoairworthinessandoperationalapprovals.
TheseapprovalswillallowanoperatortoobtainaRNP10authorisationtooperateinoceanicorremoteairspaces.
Furthermore,thisdocumentprovidescriteriaforoperatorstoextendanynavigationtimelimitassociatedwiththeRNP10approval.

5Theimplementationofthe50-NMlateralandlongitudinalseparationminimaforoceanicorremoteRNP10airspaceswillresultinbenefitsfortheoperatorsintermsofhavingagreaternumberofoptimumroutes,reduceddelays,increasedflexibility,andcostreduction,withoutreducingsafety.
ATSproviderswillobtainbenefitsfromtheefficientuseofairspaceandincreasedairtrafficflow.

6RNP10operationsinoceanicorremoteareaswithnoground-basednavigationaids,exceptforisolatedareas,requireaircraftnavigationtobebasedonlong-rangenavigationcapabilitywithinertialnavigationand/orglobalpositioningsystems.

1AircrafteligibilityManyoftheaircraftandnavigationsystemscurrentlyusedforoceanicandremoteoperationsareeligibleforRNP10operations,basedononeormoreoftheprovisionsincludedinthecurrentcertificationcriteria.
Therefore,anadditionalaircraftcertificationmaynotbeneededformostRNP10operationalapprovals.
Inthesecases,anewaircraftcertificationwillonlybeneedediftheapplicantchoosestorequestadditionalperformance,beyondtheoriginalcertificationorthecertificationdeclaredintheaircraftflightmanual(AFM),andwhenthedesiredperformancecannotbeshownthroughdatacollectionmethods.

b)validatethenavigationdataloadedfortheroutes,whetherintheflightsimulatororintheaircraft,undervisualmeteorologicalconditions(VMC).
Theroutesoutlinedinamapdisplaymustbecomparedtothepublishedroutes.
Thecompleteroutesmustbeflowntoensurethatthepathscanbeused,thattherearenoapparentlateralorlongitudinalpathdisconnections,andthattheyareconsistentwiththepublishedroutes.
c)aftervalidatingtheroutes,acopyofthevalidatednavigationdatamustbekeptandstoredinordertocomparethemtosubsequentdataupdates.

DATAUPDATEOncetheoperatorreceivesanavigationdataupdateandbeforeusingsuchdataintheaircraft,theoperatormustcomparesaidupdatewiththevalidatedroutes.
Thiscomparisonmustidentifyandsolveanydiscrepancyinthenavigationdata.
Iftherearesignificantchanges(anychangeaffectingthepathorperformanceoftheroutes)inanypartofaroute,andsaidchangesarecheckedwiththeinitialdata,theoperatormustvalidatetheamendedrouteinaccordancewiththeinitialdatavalidation.
