IntheSanFranciscooffice,DMPOallowedautomaticlinkmonitoring;autodetectionofwhichserviceproviderwasinuse;andautoconfigurationoflinkcharacteristics,routing,andQoSsettings.
EnhancedQoS,viathebusinesspolicy,optimizedtheapplicationbehaviorthatdrivesqueuing,bandwidthutilization,linksteering,andmitigationofnetworkerrors.
Overallnetworkperformancewasenhanced,andITwasabletoeliminatetheMPLSsinglepointoffailure.
Inaddition,substantialcostsavingswererealizedduetothereplacementoftheexistingedgerouters.
AfterthedeploymentofVMwareSD-WAN,VMwareITobserveda200percentperformanceimprovementasitcouldusebothlinksusingtheDMPOfeature.

MPLSandInternetcircuitsweremigratedtomanagementbyVMwareSD-WANratherthanrouters,improvingnetworkperformanceandeliminatingtheMPLSsinglepointoffailure.
Bytakingadvantageofthissecondsitedeployment,theteamwasabletoutilizeallthreenetworkoverlaysCUSTOMERSTORY|2VMwareSD-WANCutsCosts,AcceleratesPerformanceforBranchOfficeConnectionsCUSTOMERSTORY|3whencommunicatingbetweentwositesenabledwithVMwareSD-WAN.
Thisofferedadditionalperformanceimprovementsaswellasbetterreliability,resultsthatmirroredtheSanFranciscometrics.

AlwaystrustyourpilotDataandmetricsdemonstratedthatthepilotprogramshaveprovensuccessful,solvingthenetworkingchallengesposedbythelegacyarchitecture.
Resultsincluded:TheMPLSsinglepointoffailurewaseliminatedforTier2sites.
DMPOandforwarderrorcorrection(FEC)preventedpacketlossandeliminatedbrownouts.
Uploadanddownloadspeedsincreasedby200percentbysharingcapacityonbackuplinks.
SecondsitedeploymentenabledtheutilizationofallnetworkoverlaysinameshwhencommunicatingbetweentwositesenabledwithVMwareSD-WAN.
Thiscontributestoadditionalperformanceimprovementsaswellasbetterreliability.
