ItispossiblethatusingtheoptionalIBMBladeCenterMemoryandI/OExpansionBlade,whichprovides4additionalDIMMslots,isnecessarytoaccesstheothertwomemorychannels.
TheIBMdocumentationsaysthatwhentheusingtheMemoryexpansionblade,theoptimalmemoryconfigurationistouse2pairsofmatchingDIMMs;1pairontheboardinslots1and3andtheotherpairontheexpansionbladeinslots5and7.
Becausethesystemwetesteddidnotshipwiththispart,wewereunabletotestthishypothesis.
Inconclusion,webelievethattheIBMBladeCenterHType8852'srelativelylowSPECjbbscoresareprobablyafunctionofitslowermemorybandwidth.
PowersettingsexperimentsWeranonetestwiththemaximumnumberofbladesforeachenclosureandthepowersettingsontheenclosuresasidenticalaspossible.
