ButthemajorityoftheotherkidswerepeoplefromotherschoolswhomIdidn'tknow.
Agnawingsensationofdreadtwistedmystomach,andalthoughIhadjustarrivedatthecamp,IwasalreadynotlookingforwardtoCampCallejon.
CampCallejonwasacampthatalltheformerfifthgradersfromalldifferentschoolscametobeforeschoolstartedsoeverybodycouldgettoknoweachother.
ThecampwashostedinthegymofDonCallejonSchool(DCS),anditwasoverstuffedwithkidsfromallsortsofpastelementaryschoolswhowouldbegoingtosixthgradeatDonCallejon.
DonCallejonwasakindergartenthrougheighthgradeschool,meaningthatitwasamiddleschoolandanelementaryschool,soIhadbeengoingtoDCSsincekindergarten,andwasnowcomingbackformiddleschool.
ScanningthejostlingcrowdofcheerfulfacesIhadneverseenbefore,Ispottedmybestfriend,Jenniferandshovedmywaythroughtheotherkidstoher.

Whichevergroupmanagedtogetthehulahooparoundtheentirecirclefirstwouldwin.
Whenagrouphadcompletedthegame,theyweretositdownontheground.

Johnsonblewintohiswhistleandtheshrill,sharpsoundrangthroughtheair.
Thegamebegan!
Ibouncedupanddownasthefirstkidmanagedtosqueezeintothehulahoopandgetittothenextpersonwithoutlettinggooftheotherkids'hands.
Everybodyinourcirclewasscreamingandencouragingthem.

Thehoopwasalmostcompletelyaroundthecircleandnoneoftheothergroupsweresittingdownyet.
Therewasachanceourgroupwouldwin.
Ijumpedupanddown,unabletocontainmyexcitement.
Thiswasactuallyquitefun!
Finally,itwaslastpersoninourcircle'sturn.
Sheslippedthroughthehulahoopeasilyandweweredone!
