OVERVIEWGeneralTheCentralPersonnelDataFile(CPDF)systemisanautomatedinformationsystemcontainingindividualrecordsformostFederalcivilianemployees.
Thesystem'sprincipalobjectiveistoprovideareadilyaccessibleprimarydatasourceformeetingtheworkforceinformationneedsoftheOfficeofPersonnelManagement(OPM),othercentralmanagementagencies,theCongress,theWhiteHouse,andthepublic.
Fromdatasubmittedbytheagencies,OPMcreatesastatusfileandadynamicsfile.
Thestatusfilecontainsanindividualrecordofthestatusofeachactiveemployeeasoftheendofthereportingperiod,usuallytheendofthefiscalquartersofMarch,June,September,andDecember.
Thedynamicsfilecontainsarecordofallpersonnelactionsoccurringduringaparticularreportingperiod,usuallytheJanuary-March,April-June,July-September,andOctober-Decemberfiscalquarters.
TheGuideshowsthestatusfileanddynamicsfiledataedits.
TheCPDFeditsareorganizedintoseparatesections--oneforthestatusfileandanotherforthedynamicsfile.
