SchoolsnotbeingabletofindasuitableNETmayapplytotheirrespectiveSSDOforpermissiontoappointatemporaryNET1withthefollowing:(a)RecordsoftherecruitmentexercisefortheNETpostconducted,includingadvertisementplacements2,interviewboardcomposition,selectionproceduresandresults,etc.
;(b)Documentsregardingthequalifications/experiencesoftheprospectivetemporaryNETforconsiderationbeforeofferingappointment;and(c)EvidenceshowingtheschoolsarestillactivelylookingforfullyqualifiedteacherstofilltheNETposts.

TherequirementsforappointmentofatemporaryNETareasfollows:(a)Candidatesshouldbenative-speakerofEnglishorpossessnative-speakerEnglishcompetence3.

abachelor'sdegreemajoringinEnglishLanguageorLinguisticsorEnglishLiteratureorEnglishStudiesoraModernLanguagefromaHongKonguniversityoritsequivalent;ORii.
abachelor'sdegreeinanysubjectfromaHongKonguniversityor1Schoolsshouldfollowrelevantproceduresandrequirementsregardingtheappointmentofstaffstipulatedinrelevantcirculars,circularmemorandaandguidelines.
2ForschoolshavingentrustedEDBtorecruitNETbutwithnoNETappointedforthetimebeing,SSDOmayseekconfirmationregardingtheassistanceprovidedonNETrecruitmenttotheschoolsconcernedfromNETAdministrationTeam.
3NativespeakersofEnglisharepeoplewhoacquirethelanguageininfancyanddevelopthelanguagethroughadolescenceandadulthoodwithinacommunitywhereEnglishisspokenasthefirstlanguage.
Native-speakerEnglishcompetencereferstotheabilitytouseEnglishfluentlyandspontaneously,togivegrammaticallyaccurateresponsesincommunicationandtowriteorspeakcreatively.
Non-nativespeakersofEnglish,i.

peoplewhohavenotacquiredthelanguageinearlychildhood,arealsosuitableforemploymentasNETsiftheirEnglishcompetenceisnotdifferentfromthatofnative-speakersintermsoffluency,accuracyandcreativityinlanguageuse.

TermsofAppointment4.
ThesetemporaryNETsshouldinitiallybeappointedonaday-to-daybasisand,forcontinuousappointmentof90daysorabove,theywillbepaidmonthlysalaryattheGraduateMaster/Mistress(GM)rank.
TheywillnotbeeligibleforthefringebenefitsundertheEnhancedNETSchemeinSecondarySchools.
