Itproposesactionstokeepresourcesintheeconomyandretainthevalueoftheseresources,whichwillcontributetowardsdeliveryofasustainable,lowcarbon,PCQMSPACCAGCLRLBAMKNCRGRGTCCAMLMKW2FGQplanrecognisespublicprocurementasakeydriverinthetransitiontowardsthecirculareconomy,anditsetsoutseveralactionswhichtheEuropeanCommissionwilltaketofacilitatetheintegrationofcirculareconomyprinciplesinGPP.
TheseincludeemphasisingcirculareconomyaspectsinneworupdatedsetsofEUGPPCriteria4,supportingahigheruptakeofGPPamongEuropeanpublicbodies,andleadingbyexampleinitsownprocurementandinEUfunding.

BENEFITSOFCIRCULARPROCUREMENT"Inacirculareconomy,carbondioxideemissionswouldhalveby2030andresourceconsumptionbycars,constructionmaterials,realestateland,syntheticfertilizer,pesticides,wateruse,fuelsandnon-renewableelectricitycoulddropby32%by2030and53%by2050,comparedwithtoday".

Thisprogrammebroughttogether45publicandprivateparties,andtaskedeachofthemwithcarryingouttwocircularprocurementinitiativesinordertoincreaseexperience,shareinsights,andcreateapoolofgoodpractice.
Overthreeyears,80circularprocurementpilotswereconductedandtheirlessonsshared.
ThesuccessofthisprogrammeresultedintheDutchGovernmentplacingspecialemphasisoncircularprocurementandtheconsiderationoflife-cyclecostsinits2016RoadmaptoaCircularEconomy.
Moreover,itincludedanaimtoraisetheproportionofcircularprocurementto10%by2020.

Asaresultthecityhasdrasticallyreduceditscostsaswellastheamountofprintedmaterialsproduced.
